WORSHIP - NOVEMBER 29, 2020
Canyon Hill Family,
I know that holidays bring much joy, but I also know that much grieving happens during the holidays as many of us miss loved ones. I am reminded of Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 when he says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." Giving thanks in the midst of all circumstances is not something easy to do, but I am grateful that the call isn't to give thanks for all circumstances, but in all circumstances. We can give thanks to God always because our gratitude is directed toward Him, not our circumstances.
I am not sure what your circumstances are today, but I know many among our church family is fighting sickness and pain. I know many are grieving today as well. In the midst of these tough circumstances, I thank God for how He has faithfully been at work through our Canyon Hill family as we pray for one another, encourage one another and spur each other on in the journey of following Christ. As we prepare to worship this first Sunday of Advent, we are reminded of the hope that we have because of the birth of our Savior. I am thankful that we are a people of hope, a hope rooted in the person of Jesus.
